Arusha
National Park is the closest to Arusha Town and can be visited
in one day from there. It has 137 square kilometers and lies
between Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro. This park, which
lies between 1500 meters and 4566 meters, holds Mount Meru,
Ngurdoto Crater and Lake Momella. The lanscape is made of
forest and swamps, and the famous summits can be seen from
almost everywhere.
When
to visit?
The air is the clearest between December and February, but
the park is easily visited the whole year round, with the
best being between June and March.
Animals:
Arusha
Park has many grazers, monkeys and predators. White Colobus
monkeys, elephants, giraffes, buffalos, gazelles, hippos,
leopards, hyenas, wild pigs are all to be seen in this park.
Birds:
there
are about 400 different species of birds and it is easy to
observe them around Momella Lake.
